What Students & Parents Say
"Joanna tutored our daughter through KS3 and the difference was remarkable. She has a real gift for building confidence quietly - our daughter went from dreading comprehension exercises to genuinely enjoying them. The preparation was thorough, well-structured, and always felt manageable rather than pressured. We could not recommend her more highly."Elizabeth Mannering - Parent
"Our son had fallen behind in English by the start of Year 10 and we were worried about his GCSEs. Joanna turned things around completely. She was calm, systematic, and somehow made essay technique genuinely interesting to a fifteen-year-old boy. He came away with a grade 7 and far more confidence than he went in with. We only wish we had found her sooner."Andy Melgard - Parent
"Our daughter came to Joanna midway through Year 13 having lost confidence in her own ideas. Joanna gave her permission to think more boldly, and the quality of her work shifted noticeably within a few weeks. She achieved an A in her English Literature A-level and arrived at university genuinely excited about the subject. That is the real measure of a great tutor."Emily Blackturpe - Parent
"Joanna ran a small group session for four pupils ahead of their A-level English exams and the results were extraordinary. She managed the dynamic brilliantly, drawing out the quieter students and creating an atmosphere where the group learned from each other as well as from her. All four improved on their predicted grades - two achieved an A, one an A*, and one a B who had been predicted a D."Casper Bright - Parent
